Anil Ambani’s Reliance Big Entertainment and Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment will join hands to make another Hollywood movie. Last year, the two heavyweights had announced the Dark Void project, based on Capcom’s acclaimed videogame. It is being developed as a sci-fi action movie that will most probably star Brad.
The company told DNA that the joint venture would see them acquire the rights of Tom Rachman’s acclaimed debut novel The Imperfectionists that strips open how an international newspaper company functions.
The film will be a critique of the industry and bring out the quirky and endearing people who write and read an international newspaper based in Rome.
Tom, a former journalist with an international newswire, was based in Rome, and his novel has been inspired from his experiences in the city and the office. He has dished out a bevy of memorable characters in The Imperfectionists, the most loved being an obituary reporter who would do anything to avoid work, and a young freelancer who is manipulated by a scheming war correspondent.
Amit Khanna, Reliance Big Entertainment’s chairman, confirmed, “The Imperfectionists is a compliment to our slate with Plan B Entertainment. It will make a commercial and extremely relevant film which will play well to an international audience
